Lyn & Bob: Your Hosts! |
Welcome From Your Host: Lyn Hamby Fensalden, "Land of the Mist and the Sea," commands a magnificent view of the ocean from our 400 foot elevation on Navarro Ridge Road. Come whale watch, join the deer on a stroll through our meadow, or just relax with a good book and good company! Located 150 miles north of San Francisco, it's a beautiful drive through the wine country of the Anderson Valley, and the Redwood Forest. |
Water Tower Complex

Overlooking the Pacific
Ocean from twenty tree-lined pastoral acres, Fensalden Inn offers a quiet
respite and relaxing atmosphere for the perfect getaway. A former stage
coach stop, the Inn offers warm hospitality, and an array of interesting
sights and activities for the traveler. There are eight guest quarters, five in the main house, including a two room suite with a queen size canopy bed. All rooms have fireplaces or gas stoves, bar refrigerators and ocean or garden views. The Water Tower complex houses two units. One is a suite with a private entrance, full kitchen, living room with wood burning fireplace, and a queen sleeping loft. The cathedral ceilings allow huge windows which overlook the ocean. There is an adjoining queen room with a private entrance, which also has a wood burning fireplace, bar refrigerator and ocean view. |
The Bungalow: Complete privacy in a rustic setting.
|
The eighth unit is a bungalow with private entrance, porch, large living room with a gas burning fireplace, dining table and chairs under a picture window overlooking the ocean, and a queen size bed at the far end of the room. One step down puts you in a fully equipped kitchen. Two steps up and you are in a queen sleeping nook. There are two lofts each with a single bed. There is a Jacuzzi tub with a skylight above it, and a redwood shower completes the romantic ambiance. |
|
The Inn's main building includes three common rooms for guests' use. A wood burning fireplace in the entry parlor compliments the antiques, pewter collection and Oriental rugs. The hand rubbed redwood paneling lends a warm feeling to the room. The adjoining office is equipped with FAX, telephone, and PC outlets. The Tavern Room is the hub of the Main House. There, among fine antiques and Oriental prints, one can sit and enjoy the fire and gaze at the ever changing sea as you enjoy afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres. In the morning, a full gourmet breakfast is served. On Sundays, a champagne brunch is offered. If you are in the mood for exploring or shopping, the Inn is just seven miles south of the quaint New England style village of Mendocino, with shops and galleries galore and some of the best eating places on the coast. Come enjoy the Fensalden Inn! |
